The forest of columns and the double-horseshoe arches The red and white colours are the city’s most recognisable feature. The cathedral was later built on top of the prayer hall, and the two structures now coexist within the same building.
The neighbourhood surrounding the Mosque, with the synagogue, the Calleja de las Flores and the narrow whitewashed streets. You can explore it on foot, and everything is just a few minutes’ walk away.
Cross the Guadalquivir from the Puerta del Puente to the Torre de la Calahorra. It is a pedestrian bridge, and from the centre of the bridge you can see the Mosque with the Arab windmills in the foreground.
