The Picasso's Birthplace is located at number 15 of the emblematic Plaza de la Merced. It was here that he lived his first years with his family and where he began to take his first steps in drawing, inspired by the artistic atmosphere of his home.
The 19th century bourgeois style building has been restored and converted into a museum and cultural space. Since 1983 it has been the headquarters of the Picasso Foundation and was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument of National Interest in 1987.
