How to get to Frigiliana

To get to Frigiliana, you have several options depending on your location and transport preferences, here is how to get to Frigiliana:

  • Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is the nearest airport to Frigiliana.
  • Transport from the airportFrom the airport, you can take a taxi to Frigiliana, which will take approximately 1 hour, or take a bus (line A) or train (Cercanías C1) to get to the centre of Malaga and from there take a bus to Nerja to get to Frigiliana. You can also hire the Rios Shuttle service

There is no direct train line to Frigiliana. The nearest train station is Malaga. From there, you can take a bus or taxi to Frigiliana.

If you are coming from Malaga take the A-7 motorway heading east towards Almeria. After approximately 50 km, take exit 292 onto the MA-105 road towards Frigiliana. Follow the signs to Frigiliana on the MA-105, which will take you directly into the village.

Frigiliana has no direct access by sea, as it is not located on the coast. If you arrive by boat to nearby ports such as Malaga or Motril, you will need to take another means of land transport (such as bus or taxi) to reach Frigiliana.

In Frigiliana, public transport is mainly limited to local buses that connect the village with Nerja and other nearby towns. Timetables can vary, so it is advisable to check in advance. Also, due to its size and location in the mountains, many people choose to travel by private car or taxi for convenience and flexibility.
